July 16, 2018 by beachristtothepoor_admin

Hoima catholic diocese has ordained fourteen new Priests and 10 Deacons after they completed their theological training.

The priestly ordination ceremony was conducted by Hoima catholic diocese bishop Vicent Kirabo Amoot on Saturday at Our Lady of Loudes- Bujumbura cathedral in Hoima town.

Those ordained are; Rev Godfrey Alinaitwe, Rogers Matovu Alituha, Charles Isingoma, Joseph Kato and Bazil Kisakyamaria.

Others are; Leopold Kobusheshe, John Mary Mbabazi, John Mugabi, Denis Mukonyezi,  John Bosco Musinguzi, Donozio Ruhangaliyo, Richard Tumusiime, Achileo Bisoborwa and Godfrey Isingoma.

The 10 seminarians who were ordained to deacons will have to complete one more year of theological training if they are to be ordained priests.

Bishop Kirabo urged the newly ordained priests to abide by vows by spreading the gospel of God and guiding Christians to be stronger in their faith.

“You have been called by God to serve him through spreading his gospel across the globe and the field you have entered is lifetime. I therefore urge you to always pray to God for guidance and wisdom as you execute your work,” he said.

Bishop Kirabo posted the newly ordained priests to different parishes in the diocese. He encouraged parents to guide their children to become God’s servants saying there is still a gap.

Speaking on behalf of the ordained, Rev. Fr. John Mugenyi commended their parents for the support both financial and spiritual saying it was a long journey and by the grace of God, to attain such position.
